“Mom, I know you’re right, but…forget it, let’s talk about something else,” Aaliyah said abruptly.

Precious chose not to push her daughter about the issue any further. Aaliyah was stubborn and strong-willed just like her mother so Precious decided to change the subject to something that would put a smile on her face. “How’s the wedding planning coming?”

“Great! We found the perfect location. I can’t wait for you to come and visit so I can show you. You’re going to love it,” Aaliyah said with enthusiasm.

“I know that I will. I’ll be there in a few weeks unless you changed your mind and want Supreme and me to come to your pre-wedding party. I guess that’s what you’re calling it,” Precious said.

“No, you don’t have to come. You put together that beautiful engagement party for us. It was intimate with our family and friends. This is something that one of Dale’s friends slash business associates is throwing for us at one of his strip clubs. It’s an upscale strip club and I’m sure it will be very nice, but I’ll probably only know a handful of people there. It’s more of a fun party vibe. I even told Nico not to come, but of course he insisted I invite Angel.”

“That makes sense. I hope you did?”

“Yes, and she was very happy. She’s coming with her husband.”

“That’s right. She’s married to that boxer guy…right?”
